The 3 murals Colourfield 001, 002 and 003 where part of the group exhibition From Sol to Now at Icoon. Adaped to the characteristics of this exhibition space in a former bunker I painted a collection of colour~fields. In the murals a connection can be seen with the perception of colours on a remote horizon.

Colour Conversations

The publication consists of 305 different colour pages. While turning the pages the interaction of colours becomes visible, changing the perception of light, shades and hues. The book has been developed as a Conversation Piece as part of my masters research.

Spring Architecten commissioned me to design and make a mural in their office space. Based on an original colour study on paper, I re-designed the colour composition to create a new design matching the space and connected to the view outside.

The Spotlight Wall at Kunstuitleen Rotterdam, showcased an installation of Colour Study drawings in oil pastel and textile assemblage. This ongoing series of studies was started during my Master’s research project Colour Stories.

The Colour Story

Publication⎪Hands on Research / Set Margins #35⎪2024

My masters research The Colour Story – an exploration on revealing subjective colour experiences – was featured as a case study in the publication Hands On Research. This publication functions as a guide to get started with research in art and design. It presents the research process through six actions: research by making, research of context, participatory research, reflecting on research, documenting research and making public.

Landscapes and Horizons

Exhibition⎪Textile, wood, acrylic⎪2024

The installation Landscapes and Horizons, was part of the group exhibition Tussenruimte at Het Archief in Rotterdam. The installation showed textile assemblages as spacial objects. Visualising colour-fields that evoke memories of different landscapes; Lake, Beach, Forest and Hill.

Paradigm Shift

During 100 days I made one colour notation every day. The drawings show colour combinations based on the feeling of that specific day. Sometimes drawn in the morning, full of expectations for the day to come. Sometimes drawn at the end of the day, as a recap of the day.

Development and design of workshops on colour. For a variety of educational institutes and organisations like Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam, WdKA, Zuyd Maastricht, Zinecamp and others.
